Request Management System - Vision
Who doesn't know typical IT projects and environments? Lots of different projects and systems with hundreds of requirements, issues and tasks. Some of them are hierarchically organized, but most of them have intersections and build a huge network of releationships and dependencies. And all this stuff has to be handled by a too small team.
Often this dilemma is handled by a number of different tools like a project management, a requirment management, a trouble ticketing system and wikis. But all of them together lack the handling of the relationships between all the information. So it is really difficult
- to trace the compliance of all requirements and issues,
- to get a quick look on the workload of your team members,
- to create reports about your environment for for analysis and improvement,
- for each one to get an allways actual view on what to do,
- for the management to get an overview about all activities in their division and
- on a common understanding of the know how and the terms of the environment.
The Tideland Request Management System addresses this problem. It allows to manage a huge set of different entities out of the IT domain. Some of those entities have a typical strong relationships which are modeled directly. This depends on the nature of those entities. But most of the entities are loose coupled.
The solution is relationship management which can handle typed releationships between almost all entities. So the users of the system can create the network of entites they need to get optimal support for their work.
